Extras:
- Paul Verhoeven,
Kevin Bacon, and Andrew Marlowe Commentary: Great insight
to the special effects and technical aspects of the movie mostly.
Bacon and Verhoeven do most of the talking. Verhoeven goes mostly
over the the technical info and special effects of the movie,
and Bacon surprisingly gives us a lot of technical information
too. It also seems like he knows more about the movie than Verhoeven,
and he is always keen to ask questions, making sure we get the
most information about each scene. He also tries to crack jokes
too, to break up the seriousness, but the others don't pick up
on it. Although there are the moments, for example, when Bacon
jokes about "the digital breast" and the fact that you'd
only hear Verhoeven talk about that-- that gets laughs. When there
is insight into the characters, the screenwriter speaks up, and
Verhoeven usually adds to his thoughts. Overall a great commentary.
They all play off each other well, asking lots of questions, and
there is rarely a break in the talking.
- Isolated
Music Score with Jerry Goldsmith Commentary:
This is the musical score of the movie (in 5.1 Digital sound)
accompanied by short, sporatic comments by Goldsmith between the
music. Lengthly and short commentary goes over the musical themes,
how the music relates to the characters and scenes, and Goldsmith's
thoughts on working with Verhoeven on this and several other movies.
Ideas on how Verhoeven reactes to the music, and how the two collaborate
are quite interesting. Good musical insight, and lots of talking
when the music isn't playing.
- Hollow
Man: Anatomy of a Thriller:
Short HBO documentary that goes over the story, the director Verhoeven,
and of course the effects of the movie. Has cast and crew interviews.
(15 minutes).
- Fleshing

15 Behind the scenes featurettes. Focuses on the special effects
