Twister (1996)

The twister...uh... twisting. Racing away from the twister.

JB

Almost as much fun as the game. But the only thing spinning will be your head if you try and find a plot in this film. Ah well. Hunt, Hoffman, and Ruck (woo-hoo Alan Ruck sighting!) follow tornados around so they can release tiny scientific devices into the funnels so they can get WinData 98. Paxton joins up with them in his nice truck and his not-so-nice girlfriend (Gertz). The man-in-blackish gray (Elwes) stars as funnel competition #1… but he loses. DeBont's second directorial film looks spectacular, and sports decent performances from wind-blown leads. Also, can't forget another stellar supporting actor contribution by Ruck (it's Oscar time baby).
