| Lethal Weapon
(1987) |
 |
"Have a nice day." |
Shawn
Starting off
a string of explosive action movies, the first, in my opinion is
still the best, since it's got more of a harsh edge than the others.
Roger Murtaugh breaks in a new police partner Martin Riggs, an ex
Special Forces commando who just happens to have a suicidal streak.
Together they stumble onto a group of tough mercenaries involved
in a drug dealing operation. Murtaugh gets stressed out over the
fact that Riggs' intensity is completely over the edge (thus his
title as a lethal weapon), but they warm up to each other eventually
and become unlikely friends. The very well written script and lively
acting make this movie exude personality, just like the rest of
the Lethal Weapons (minus the fourth
installment). Lethal Weapon is definitely a modern action
classic.
