| Erin Brockovich
(2000) |
Shawn
Brockovich (Roberts)
is an out of work twice divorced mother of three that gets a filing
job at an attorney's office. After doing a little investigating
of her own on a specific case about contaminated ground water and
a very sick community, she moves up the ranks, working on this huge
case with the head attorney of the office. The relationship between
Brockovich and the head attorney is really fun to watch. The rest
of the characters work well too, and who knew a scruffy, tough looking
biker could be so nice. Even though the movie is based on a true
story, I've seen movies with stories like this before, but this
one is definitely better than any one I've seen before. Well paced,
but loses a little momentum towards the end. I hate to admit it,
since I usually can't stand Julia Roberts, but she is really good
in this. I guess that's why she won the oscar.
