| Dogma (1999) |
 |
The Catholic Church's new, updated
image is brought to the forefront with the "Buddy-Christ." |
Shawn
This movie brings
up every idea you've ever had about religion and god, that is if
you've ever questioned religion and/or your faith. So this movie
will make you think, and as an extra bonus it'll make you laugh
along the way too. The plot concerns two banished angles that find
a way back into heaven due to a bad policy developed by the Catholic
Church. A human (Fiorentino) is contracted by God to stop them,
or else the world will come to an end. Nothing major... The movie
seems to lose its momentum towards the end, but it's an enjoyable
watch. One disturbing thing-- what's up with Alanis Morissette as
god??
