Dirty Pretty Things (2002)

Fishing.... for a heart.

Shawn

We are introduced to an illegal immigrant (Ejiofor) living in England, who seems to be living to survive, day to day. Not having anywhere to stay, a Turkish woman (Tautou) who he works with, is kind enough to let him stay with her. This immigrant who is a cabbie by day, porter by night discovers something quite odd one night. In the process of checking on one of the hotel rooms, he stumbles upon a clogged toilet, and as he unclogs it, finds the culprit to the clog - a human heart.
The story then unfolds little by little to expose the mystery, focusing on the dirty underbelly of England, and those of the lowest working class who have to deal with it - compromised by their situation; what they must do to survive, compromising their principles and ethics.
