Desperado (1995)

A shootout at the watering hole The "behind the back" pistol move.... Nice!

JB: (singing): why don't you come to your senses. Come down from your fences and...

Shawn: Stop that.

JB: This is the prequel to From Dusk Till Dawn only there aren't any vampires or Harvey Keitel. El Mariachi, this time Banderas, tracks down the Evil Bucho for reasons we forget amongst dead bad guys and rapid fire action. A fine example of a directors ability to introduce new and exciting ways to film violence! Which of course makes it very enjoyable. Watch for Carlos Gallardo, the original Mariachi, as the machine gun totin' buddy. And of course, Tarantino, who thankfully gets shot.

Shawn: I almost agree completely on this one. This movie is just so cool that I can't help but give it more than 3 stars. The strangely balletic use of gun with bullets flying makes Banderas kinda the equivalent of a gun-toting Mexican Chow Yun-Fat in this one. Enjoy the goodness.
